A Parting of the Ways

A Parting of the Ways

If Barnabas and Paul could disagree and part their ways,

And both could still be serving God and giving Him their praise,

Then surely you and I can face a disagreement too,

And each proceed to do the things that we feel called to do.

The time we spent together in the service of the Lord,

Has proved we both agree on love and reverence for His Word.

And each of us, within the other’s heart has seen the flame

Of service and devotion to the Saviour’s blessed Name.

Although we two no longer toil behind a single plow,

It doesn’t mean the devil can declare the victory now.

For both of us will toil on, each in a different sphere,

And souls in need of Christ will still the Gospel message hear.

Today I’d like to reaffirm my love and prayers for you;

I pray God’s richest blessing on the work your hands will do.

In spite of disagreement that has caused our ways to part,

I love you in the Lord because I know what’s in your heart!

May God bless you as you serve Him

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ,

if any comfort of love,

if any fellowship of the Spirit,

if any bowels and mercies,

Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded,

having the same love,

being of one accord, of one mind.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;

but in lowliness of mind

let each esteem other better than themselves.

Philippians 2:1-3

By this shall all men know

that ye are my disciples,

if ye have love one to another.

John 13:35

A Friend at All Times

Your friendship affords a wonderful view . . .
For day by day I see Christ in you!

When blessings lift me up, you share.
When trials bend me low, you care.
When my talents lie untapped, you perceive.
When my goals are still a dream, you believe.
When my stubborn heart retreats, you seek.
When my failures need rebuke, you speak.
When hardness dulls my heart, you plead.
When I have lost my way, you lead.
When troubles overcome me, you hear.
When sadness overwhelms me, you cheer.
When heavy is my load, you pray.
When others turn away, you stay.

Thank you for the priceless gift of your friendship!

Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel. Faithful are the wounds of a friend. Proverbs 27:9, 6

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17

Two are better than one: because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
